About the CIS Program

You can earn an associate, bachelor, or post-baccalaureate credential in Computer Information Systems by enrolling in the Computer Information Systems program. Take core courses that provide hands-on application in hardware and operating systems, networking and security, systems analysis, database design, applications development, or Web design and development and select from over twenty information technology electives that are specifically designed to further your career goals.

The Computer Information Systems program has established partnerships with local businesses and works closely with Project>Login, “a campaign to expand the network of computing and IT professionals in Maine through education, information, and internships.”

The CIS bachelor’s program requires a 300-level, three-credit internship class, which provides real-world experience in the IT field. Graduates of our program are poised to launch a challenging career in computer information systems.

Since information systems are an integral part of every business enterprise, students who can provide innovative solutions to corporate challenges are in high demand.

The projected state and local shortage for skilled information technology professionals, especially for system analysts, database analysts, and security analysts, ensure that academically-prepared CIS graduates will have an exciting array of career options in the foreseeable future.
