Networking Minor
The Computer Networking minor is designed to allow students in other disciplines as well as computer
information students to earn a credential to show that they have taken a concentration of networking
classes that range from basic concepts to network management, background in network protocols, advanced
networking skills, and security principles.
The need for networks is increasing as more and more business get connected or update technology. The
networking industry needs skilled workers that understand networking concepts and how to apply them to
the job. To work as a network analyst/administrator a student would need a bachelor's degree in a
computer-related discipline with a concentration in networking or the ability to demonstrate that
he/she has taken more than a few basic networking courses.
